EUROSOLAR Georgia Co-Hosts Successful Roundtable on Solar Energy in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, October 30, 2024 – EUROSOLAR Georgia, in collaboration with local partner Unison Group, successfully hosted the “Advancing Solar Energy: Future Directions for PV Development in Kyrgyzstan” roundtable at the Ambassador Hotel, Bishkek. The event, part of the broader ENABLING PV initiative, was organized by EUROSOLAR Georgia alongside key partners eclareon GmbH, Ideas Into Energy, and BSW Solar. This roundtable aimed to foster dialogue on the development of photovoltaic (PV) technology and renewable energy, gathering industry leaders, government officials, and international experts to discuss strategies for accelerating solar energy initiatives in the region.

The roundtable, moderated by EUROSOLAR Georgia’s CEO George Kekelidze, featured a strong representation from both local and international entities. Key contributors included Constantin Zelenty, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Bishkek, and Caroline Heidtmann, Senior Project Manager at eclareon GmbH, who provided insight into the objectives and impacts of the “ENABLING PV” project. With an agenda focused on advancing renewable energy education, fostering local talent, and addressing regulatory developments, the roundtable underscored the importance of cohesive efforts in building a resilient solar energy infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan.

Highlights included an overview by Kundus Kyrbasheva from the Green Energy Fund on the renewable energy landscape in Kyrgyzstan, as well as a presentation by Almaz Tuganbaev from the Ministry of Energy on recent legislative developments. Following discussions on green vocational training and applied research, participants engaged in a networking session aimed at furthering partnerships and knowledge exchange.

This roundtable aligns with EUROSOLAR Georgia’s mission to advance solar energy through cross-border collaboration and knowledge-sharing initiatives. The event served as a platform for meaningful exchanges and promises continued collaboration to enable solar innovation in the Kyrgyz market.
