Tbilisi, Georgia \u2014 EUROSOLAR Georgia<\/strong> recently hosted the 1st Enabling PV Forum for South Caucasus and Central Asia<\/strong>, bringing together stakeholders from the renewable energy sector to discuss advancements in solar energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices. Held on October 3-4, 2024<\/strong>, in Tbilisi, the event was a remarkable success, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and collaborative dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum saw participation from representatives across the region, including industry experts, government officials, researchers, and financial institutions, all committed to advancing the development of photovoltaic (PV) and renewable energy projects. The event featured insightful panel discussions, breakout sessions, and presentations on key topics such as accelerating solar energy investments, vocational training for the renewable energy workforce, and the role of universities in fostering innovation within the solar industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EUROSOLAR Georgia<\/strong> emphasized the importance of aligning training programs with industry needs and fostering collaborations between educational institutions and the solar industry to bridge the skills gap in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    During the event, EUROSOLAR Georgia (IITech) highlighted its groundbreaking initiative to revolutionize Georgia\u2019s wine industry with solar-powered, pesticide-free technology. Executive Director George Kekelidze emphasized the goal of reducing pesticide use by 50% while increasing organic farming by 25%, aligning with European sustainability standards. The team is piloting a solar ozone generator system to enhance crop yields and reduce environmental impact, positioning Georgian winemakers for global success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Looking Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As the main organizers, EUROSOLAR Georgia<\/strong>, in partnership with eclareon GmbH<\/strong> and Ideas Into Energy GmbH<\/strong>, aim to build on the success of this year\u2019s event by developing even more comprehensive agendas and fostering deeper collaborations for future forums. With the support of the German Energy Agency (dena)<\/strong>, German Solar Association (BSW-Solar)<\/strong> and the Federal Foreign Office<\/strong>, the Enabling PV Forum has set a strong foundation for continued growth and innovation in the solar energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
